About Conference
On the occasion of the No Tobacco Day promoted by the World Health Organization on 31 May, the CoEHAR (Center of Excellence for the Acceleration of HArm Reduction) of the University of Catania organizes the annual “CoEHAR National Conference” which will be held on Wednesday 31 May from 8.30 to 16 in the Aula Magna of the Palazzo Centrale of the University of Catania.
CoEHAR is the center of excellence founded in 2018 by prof. Riccardo Polosa, considered the most important scientist in the world in the field of research on the tobacco harm reduction.
During No Tobacco Day, Catania becomes the world capital of anti-smoking research with national and international experts from different countries and universities in order to discuss topics and scientific results about to the most effective tools and solutions to help smokers give up bad habits and improve their lifestyle.
In the last 5 years, CoEHAR has produced more than 130 papers thanks to the collaboration of more than 100 researchers engaged in 15 different countries around the world.
Sicily, and Catania specifically, represent the starting point of a battle against smoking, which in every part of the globe has the principal objective to create a world free from combustion by 2030.
The annual CoEHAR conference will be moderated by Prof. Carla Bruschelli of the University of Rome La Sapienza, and Prof. Roberto Sussman of the Universidad Nacional de Mexico, prof. Nick Croft of the University of Melbourne, Prof. Emmanuele Jannini of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and numerous other experts in smoking-related pathologies will be present.
