Following the success of the first edition held in May 2025, the University of Catania and CoEHAR – Center of Excellence for the Acceleration of Harm Reduction – together with the Turkish Association of Internists (DAHUDER) is pleased to announce the second appointment of “Type 2 Diabetes in Internal Medicine Practice: Experience Sharings 2”, scheduled for 3–4 October 2025 at the Romano Palace Hotel, Catania.
The event will once again bring together renowned experts from Italy and Turkey to share the latest clinical approaches to Type 2 Diabetes management, discuss innovative therapies and prevention strategies, and address the most challenging aspects of patient care. Special focus will also be given to personalized smoking cessation and tobacco harm reduction for diabetic smokers.
The two-day conference will feature plenary sessions, clinical case discussions, and interactive Q&A moments, with contributions from leading chairs, including Prof. Riccardo Polosa, CoEHAR founder, Prof. Lucia Frittitta, Director of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Catania, and Dr. Domenico Arcoria, founder of Diabetna. Several CoEHAR members will participate as speakers, such as Prof. Davide Campagna, Prof. Pasquale Caponnetto, Dr. Carlo Bellanca, and Dr. Rossella Cannarella, together with colleagues from the Turkish Association of Internists.
Building on a strong focus on real-world clinical practice, the program will feature case presentations and interactive discussions designed to stimulate dialogue and practical problem-solving. Particular attention will be devoted to diabetes management in elderly patients and the critical role of early combination treatment in improving long-term outcomes. The final sessions will address the rational use of medicines, with practical guidance on preventing complications and providing optimal diabetic foot care.
As in the first edition, the conference will serve as a catalyst for new collaborations and practical knowledge-sharing, bringing together diverse perspectives to address the evolving challenges of Type 2 Diabetes care.
“The second edition of this meeting confirms our commitment to building scientific bridges between countries and specialties, creating a common ground where the best evidence-based practices can be shared for the benefit of patients worldwide,” said Prof. Riccardo Polosa, Founder of CoEHAR.
