On June 14, prof. Roberto Sussman, Associate Professor and Researcher in Theoretical Cosmology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, held a Lectio Magistralis on the physical principles linked to the environmental emissions of the ecig aerosol

The environmental emissions generated by the ecig aerosol is a matter of debate in the field of the research applied to combustion free products. Prof. Roberto Sussman is one of the leading experts in the field and collaborated with CoEHAR publishing three extensive articles in collaboration with Prof. Riccardo Polosa on topics related to Aerosol Physics, specifically on bio-aerosols in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic period, the increasing popularity of vaping as a safer way of nicotine consumption and the possibility of vaping inside closed spaces raised the need to estimate the possible risk of Sars-Cov-2 virus aerial transmission associated with cigarette exhalations.

A pool of international renewed scientists developed a theoretical risk model for explaining how the visibility of exhaled ECA has safety implications that are absent in other respiratory activities.

Currently visiting professor at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine of the University of Catania, prof. Roberto Sussman accepted to hold a Lectio Magistralis titled “Critical review of current laboratory standards and experimental design for harm reduction research” at the Biological Tower of the University, in Catania.

During the seminar, prof. Sussman explained the real life usage of electronic cigarettes and the physics behind the environmental emission of ecigs.

Great participation by students and researchers of the University of Catania, who experienced an extensive and interesting lesson on a cross-sectional topic in the field of harm reduction research.

At the link, an interview with prof. Sussman recorded during the lesson at the Biological Tower of the University.
