GFN 2023 will start tomorrow in Varsavia. The 10th edition of the Global Forum on Nicotine, organised from 21st to 24th June, will host events dedicated to harm reduction research. At the event, also the second meeting of the Diasmoke SAB. Diabetologists and experts on THR are going to sign new guidelines for the treatment of smokers with diabetes.

The GFN will both reflect on the challenges and successes of tobacco harm reduction over the past decade. In addition to the formal programme, there will be number of themed workshops that precede the conference – including two in Spanish, focussed on Latin American issues.

In occasion of the GFN 2023, prof. Riccardo Polosa, CoEHAR founder and prof. Davide Campagna, co-project leader of Diasmoke, will coordinate the final meeting of the SAB meeting (held last April in Catania with a group of international diabetologists) to define the guidelines for the treatment of smoking patients with diabetes.

This meeting is necessary to approve the guidelines developed in Catania. The mission is to propose to the scientific community the first document useful to help diabetes patients stop smoking combustible cigarettes and to reduce the harm from smoking.

Speakers will be: Delon Human, Andre Kengne, Noel Somasundaram, Magda Walicka, Tabinda Dugal, Roberta Sammut, Agostino Di Ciaula, Davide Campagna, S. Abbas Raga.
