FDA’s Rulemaking Process & Upcoming Tobacco Product Standards

10 February 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) is holding a public webinar titled “FDA’s Rulemaking Process and Planned Tobacco Product Standards to Prohibit Menthol as a Characterizing Flavor in Cigarettes and Flavors in Cigars.” In April 2021, FDA announced plans to advance two tobacco product standards within the next year: one to prohibit menthol as a characterizing flavor in cigarettes and another to prohibit all characterizing flavors, except tobacco, in cigars. The webinar will provide an overview of the following:

FDA’s planned tobacco product standards and why they matter to public health
FDA’s rulemaking process and how stakeholders can participate
Information about cessation resources and tools
FDA experts will also answer some of the most commonly submitted stakeholder questions. Please note FDA will respond only to questions submitted by February 4. To submit a question, please register for the webinar and complete the appropriate field on the registration form.

The public webinar will be a live webcast. The link will be provided in the confirmation email you receive after you register for the event. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours after registering, please contact Malini Runnells at malini.runnells@fda.hhs.gov.
